The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) has committed to the revitalisation of the Randburg CBD through several identified projects in the area. One project, the Randburg Precinct Upgrade, entails the upgrade of the public environment in Randburg. The aim of the development is to revitalise the area into a robust, safe and investor friendly CBD. The removal of the pedestrian bridge over Bram Fischer Drive and Jan Smuts Ave forms part of the scope of work.

As the JDA proceeds with implementation of the Randburg Public Environment Upgrade, motorists and the public are hereby advised of temporary road closures: The road closures will take place between 20:00 and 04:00 for duration of the six weeks commencing from 19 September 2016 till 31 October 2016

The road closures will take place at the following intersections:

  • Corner Dover Street and Bram Fischer Drive;
  • Corner Nobeen Street and Bram Fischer Drive;
  • Corner Jan Smuts and Bram Fischer Drive;
  • Jan Smuts entrance to the taxi Rank;
  • Corner Jan Smuts and Selkirk Street; and
  • Corner Harley and Bram Fischer Drive.
