Cleansing ceremony for the M1 scaffolding collapse accident

The City of Johannesburg has conducted a cleansing ceremony at the M1, following the tragic death of two people and the injury of 19 people on Wednesday 14th October 2015 when the scaffolding being erected to construct a walking and cycling bridge between Alexandra and Sandton and over the M1 collapsed.

Department of Labour preliminary report on the incident investigation into Grayston Drive Pedestrian and cyclist structural bridge collapse

The Department of Labour after the incident was reported visited the place where the incident took place. During our visit it transpired that Murray & Roberts were awarded a contract to commence construction of the Grayston Drive  Pedestrian and cyclist structural  bridge and they commenced the construction on the 29 January 2015 and were still continuing when the incident occurred.

JDA extends condolences following M1 scaffolding collapse

The JDA extends its heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who died or were injured in the collapse of the scaffolding over the M1 in Sandton on the afternoon of Wednesday, 14 October.
