R18.9-m revamp of Thoko Mngoma Clinic is on track

The refurbishment and extension of the Thoko Mngoma Clinic in Marlboro, just outside Alexandra in the City of Johannesburg’s Region E, is nearing completion. Work on the R18.9-million project is on track to be completed by 31 July 2017 as had been originally envisaged by the Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA), the City’s infrastructure development entity managing and overseeing the project.

Continuation of Grayston bridge construction

The Johannesburg Development Agency and the City of Johannesburg would like to inform the public that the construction of the Grayston Pedestrian Bridge, in particular the section over the M1 would be proceeding. The project is part of the Rea Vaya BRT Phase 1C connecting Alexandra, Sandton and Randburg to the Johannesburg CBD.

City turns SOD at REA VAYA depot and hands over Booysens layover

City of Johannesburg’s Members of Mayoral Committee for Transport, Cllr. Nonhlanhla Makhuba and Development Planning, Cllr. Funzela Ngobeni officiated the sod turning ceremony of Phase 1 of the Rea Vaya Selby Depot and handed over the Booysens Layover. Both the Selby Depot and Booysens Layover form part of Rea Vaya Phase 1B projects. The Booysens Layover was completed in 2016. The development of the Booysens bus layover was conceived to cater for daytime requirements of the Phase 1B BRT operations which are on the Soweto to CBD route, via Auckland Park.
