Sandspruit Bridge

The Sandpruit Bridge opened to traffic on 1st November 2016. Traffic around the Grayston Drive and Kathreine Street in Sandton, Marlboro Drive, Alexandra and neighbouring suburbs has been a challenge for many years and negatively affecting communities living in the areas and also those who commute and work around those areas.

Notice of road closures-Randburg Public Environment upgrade

The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) has committed to the revitalisation of the Randburg CBD through several identified projects in the area. One project, the Randburg Precinct Upgrade, entails the upgrade of the public environment in Randburg. As the JDA proceeds with implementation of the Randburg Public Environment Upgrade, motorists and the public are hereby advised of temporary road closures.

Alex Heritage Centre is well on its way to completion

The construction of the Alexandra Heritage Centre, situated in close proximity to the Mandela Yard, where the late former President Nelson Mandela lived in the early years of his life in Johannesburg – is nearing completion. Tourism around Alexandra will receive a major boost when the Alexandra Heritage Centre opens early next year.
