Call for emergency relief aid following Jeppestown blaze

Community organisation Bjala has called on individuals and organisations to come forward with emergency relief aid for approximately 500 residents who are destitute and without shelter after their building was destroyed by fire in Jeppestown on Tuesday, 29 September.

M1 near Grayston: lane closures over 4 nights

Bridgeworks over the M1 highway, part of the expansion of the City of Joburg's BRT network, will necessitate carriageway closures in the vicinity of the Grayston Interchange between 10pm and 4am on four successive nights. Minimal delays only are expected.

No decision to convert Joubert Park into temporary taxi holding facility has been made

The JDA would like to respond to concerns that the City of Joburg is converting Joubert Park into a temporary taxi rank. "I would like to state upfront is that the JDA is not intending to do this," says JDA Chief Executive Officer Thanduxolo Mendrew.
