City of Joburg turns SOD on Kazerne Intermodal Transport facility

The City of Joburg held a sod turning ceremony for the Kazerne Intermodal Transport facility. Kazerne is a state of the art transport facility, which will accommodate long-distance and cross-border taxis and buses, create a variety of economic opportunities through retail facilities, provide social amenities for Inner City users and residents and provide a high-quality commuter environment.

Walk My Joburg with Johannesburg Development Agency’s #JoziWalks weekend

#JoziWalks is a series of free walking tours initiated in May 2017 by the JDA (the Johannesburg Development Agency) in partnership with local community activists, tourism entrepreneurs, walking tour operators, and the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation. Over the space of two days, from June 24-25, thirteen walking tours will set off across Joburg in the suburbs of Brixton, Fietas, Newtown, Hillbrow, Sophiatown, Diepsloot, Orchards, Orange Grove, La Rochelle, Noordgesig, Orlando East, Yeoville and Alexandra.

R18.9-m revamp of Thoko Mngoma Clinic is on track

The refurbishment and extension of the Thoko Mngoma Clinic in Marlboro, just outside Alexandra in the City of Johannesburg’s Region E, is nearing completion. Work on the R18.9-million project is on track to be completed by 31 July 2017 as had been originally envisaged by the Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA), the City’s infrastructure development entity managing and overseeing the project.
